Air Liquide welcomes Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles

June 14, for its third day on their way to Bolzano (Italy), the ix35 Fuel Cell cars have stopped by Air Liquide hydrogen station in Düsseldorf for charging. Started on June 12 in Bergen (Norway), the pan-European road trip organized by Hyundai Motor aims to cross five countries (Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Italy) in five days with zero emissions.

On the 2,500-kilometre journey the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles has to prove its endurance and practicality under different weather and road conditions. The road trip also serves to demonstrate the growing hydrogen infrastructure across Europe and promote its further development.

In Germany, Air Liquide opened a hydrogen charging station to the general public for private cars in the town of Düsseldorf in 2012. Following this cuttingedge station, 9 hydrogen stations will be designed and built by Air Liquide as part of a large-scale demonstration project carried out by the German government.Indeed, by 2023, the German network will be expanded to about 400 hydrogen stations covering the whole country. A network of at least 100 public hydrogen stations will be set up over the next two years.
