On the occasion of the Hanover Fair 2018 opened today, the H2 Mobility Germany joint venture has announced the construction of 6 new hydrogen stations in Germany in the cities of Erfurt, Dortmund, Duisburg, Mönchengladbach, Passau, Rastatt. These stations will be commissioned in 2019. They will join a network that currently has 43 stations in operation nationwide.
As member of the joint venture, Air Liquide brings his technology and experience to support the deployment of hydrogen stations in Germany. 4 of these new stations will be equipped with Air Liquide technology (Dortmund, Duisburg, Mönchengladbach and Passau).
Besides the 8 stations built by Air Liquide under the umbrella of the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) between 2012 and 2017, and which have orderly been taken over by H2 Mobility earlier this year, Air Liquide has already provided his technology to 3 H2 Mobility stations in operation (Frankfurt am Main, Wendlingen, Ingolstadt), as well as to 10 others scheduled to be opened by the end of 2018.
Through the H2 Mobility joint venture, the 6 shareholders which are Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell and Total, are supervising the Germany-wide expansion of the hydrogen infrastructure, thus extending the network carried out by the Clean Energy Partnership demonstration project. By 2019, in the first phase, the members will deploy 100 hydrogen stations within the country with the support of the German government and the European Union. With the ramp-up of the number of vehicles, up to 400 hydrogen stations should then ensure a nationwide supply.
Air Liquide has been committed to the development of hydrogen energy for more than 20 years, with a particular focus on mobility. The Group is involved all along the hydrogen value chain, from the production and storage of hydrogen to its distribution to end users. Air Liquide has already installed 100 hydrogen stations in the world.
